Nylon lycra are “stable” knits – in essence, they have a nominal amount of stretching capability. Heavyweight Ponte knits are very durable and typically used for athletic uniforms in baseball and cheerleading. Because of the stable nature of the fabric, Ponte knits make excellent uniforms that allow movement and a wrinkle-free appearance.
